As day-to-day costs like healthcare, housing, utilities, and child care rise, we must do more to ensure that hardworking Coloradans have the financial security they need to achieve their American Dream. We must build a strong economy in which all who work hard and play by the rules have a fair shot at success.
Secure savings accounts
We face a retirement crisis. Many hardworking Coloradans haven’t — or aren’t able — to save for retirement. To combat this crisis, we support creating a state-administered retirement savings account which every Coloradan whose employer does not offer a savings account would be automatically enrolled in. The goal? Ensuring every Coloradan is able to retire with dignity.
Help for small businesses
There are hundreds of taxing jurisdictions in Colorado, but no single point for small businesses with their sales & use tax licensing remittance and compliance. We want to make it easier for small businesses to do business in Colorado through legislation that will solicit bids for upgrading the system.
Paid family and medical leave
The United States is one of the only countries in the world that does not guarantee paid leave of any kind to its workers. This forces many hardworking Coloradans to choose between being present for their loved ones in a time of need or putting food on the table. Oftentimes it leaves people with no other option but to go to work sick or miss the final moments of a loved one’s life. That’s why we will work to establish comprehensive paid family and medical leave for the state of Colorado.
