Senate District 11 (Colorado Springs)
Pete Lee was elected to the Colorado State Senate in 2018 in Senate District 11. He previously represented House District 18 in Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs for four terms in the Colorado House of Representatives. Senator Lee is currently Chair of the Judiciary Committee and Vice Chair of the Finance Committee.
During his time in the House, Senator Lee successfully sponsored or co-sponsored a series of restorative justice bills, including many which passed with bipartisan support. He is fiercely dedicated to reforming our criminal and juvenile justice system and cosponsored 40 bills to improve those systems . He has served as a volunteer and board member for local organizations in his community that help improve the lives of people in the juvenile and criminal justice system.
Prior to serving in the legislature, Senator Lee worked as a lawyer, a small business owner, and an executive at a Fortune 500 sized company. During his 25-year legal career, he practiced law in the criminal justice system and also represented small business owners and individuals in a wide variety of legal matters.
Senator Lee has lived in the Colorado Springs area for more than four decades with his wife Lynn where they raised three children.
