Senate District 21 (Adams County, Commerce City, Federal Heights, & Westminster)
After representing Commerce City and neighborhoods in southwest unincorporated Adams County in the State House, Senator Dominick Moreno was elected to the State Senate in 2016. He currently serves as Chair of the Joint Budget Committee and as Vice Chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee.
A native son of Adams County with strong family roots in the community, Dominick was elected to represent House District 32 as the youngest serving member in the Colorado General Assembly in 2012.
In just his first session, Dominick sponsored and passed a bipartisan law establishing universal breakfast for kids in lower-income schools. As a result of the investment in ending child hunger, nearly 80,000 more kids in Colorado have access to breakfast before they start the school day.
Raised in Commerce City, Dominick attended local public schools in Adams 14, and earned his bachelor’s degree in American Government from Georgetown University. Before being elected to the State House, Dominick served on the city council in Commerce City for three years as the youngest council member elected in the city’s history.
