Chris Kolker
Senate District 16
Senator Chris Kolker was elected in 2020 to represent Colorado Senate District 27, which encompasses most of the city of Centennial, some of Englewood, Littleton, and Greenwood Village in Arapahoe County.
In 2022, he was redistricted and now represents Senate District 16 in Arapahoe and Jefferson Counties. He currently serves as a member of the Education Committee, and Vice Chair of the Finance Committee.
Chris was raised by a John Deere factory worker and school secretary in rural Iowa - instilling in him the value of hard work and perseverance. He is committed to fighting to ensure that everyone in our state has equal opportunity to succeed and that no one is left behind in Colorado's rapidly changing economy.
Chris Kolker has lived and worked in Arapahoe County since 1999 - where he and his wife Tara decided to raise their two daughters. As a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), small business owner, and former high school teacher, Chris seeks to ensure that our state budget addresses the needs and values of Arapahoe and Jefferson Counties entrepreneurs, families, and students.
Chris understands the struggles of providing for a family, paying a mortgage, managing ever increasing medical and childcare costs, as well as fighting for high-quality local education. That’s why he is committed to ensuring that Colorado works for everyone. By prioritizing our education, transportation, and mental health systems, Chris believes we can protect and provide equal opportunity for all.
