Judy Amabile

Senate District 18

Senator Judy Amabile represents the people of Senate District 18 (Boulder, Louisville, Superior, and Gunbarrel). Prior to her election to the Senate, from 2020 - 2024, she served as State Representative for House District 49. Senator Amabile's legislative work includes measures to increase mental health resources, improve the criminal justice system, increase gun safety, and make communities more resilient to the climate crisis. In the House, she served as Chair of the Business Committee and was a member of the Judiciary, Appropriations, and Health & Human Services Committees. She also served as Chair of legislative oversight committees concerning Colorado Jail Standards and the Treatment of Persons with Behavioral Health Disorders in the Criminal and Juvenile Justice System. Prior to Senator Amabile's service in the legislature, she co-founded and for 25 years operated the manufacturing company Product Architects, maker of the Polar Bottle brand sport water bottle. Senator Amabile has three adult sons, one of whom has a serious mental illness. She was inspired to seek public office to improve Colorado's mental health care system. Managing a growing business, caring for up to 65 employees, and parenting three boys has informed every part of Senator Amabile's life and work in the Colorado General Assembly.
